Atmel provides industry-leading microcontroller cores including the ARM7TDMI^TM and AVR^®, with a range of bus-compatible peripherals: USART, Counter Timers, SPI, Interupt Controller, Watchdog etc. DSP cores such as the OakDSPCore^TM can also be integrated on-chip. These can be combined with application-specific and analog IP.

These provide the processing capability required for such applications as mobile telephones, image and sound processors, wireless and wired networks, smart cards, rotating storage and power management.

All the processor cores are supported by emulation and software development tools for right-first-time products.
