| Adtech | "With the Real-PCI
64/66 products from Xilinx, we were able to implement a fully compliant
PCI interface in our new Mx2/PCI product Family plus other functions such
as direct memory access (DMA), four dual-port FIFOs and 200,000 gates of
our own unique design in a single device," said John Beck, principle engineer
at DOME Imaging Systems, Inc., Waltham, Mass.
John Beck Priniciple Engineer Dome Imaging "We looked very carefully
at several different options, and Xilinx simply made the most sense in
terms of gates, memory, reliability and price. The Spartan FPGA was the
optimum device for our design and made the process very easy for us. The
design required several memory blocks that we implemented as a FIFO; the
embedded RAM blocks within the Xilinx device were much more efficient than
any other product on the market."

| "We did an exhaustive
search and found that only the Xilinx Virtex FPGAs could provide us with
the performance and density necessary to add Gigabit capability to the
Nebula switch family," said John Peters, vice president of development
at Performance Technologies. "We were very impressed with the system level
capabilities of the Virtex FPGAs, particularly the digital delay locked
loops and support for multiple I/O standards."

| "The Virtex
parts were the most advanced devices we could find. The block memory was
very important because we need a lot of storage to store data. Obviously
when you’re running data networks you have to store data, and the fact
that we had on-chip RAM was very enabling to us."
